Op 12 maart slaan Young Rabo en Stichting Oma's Soep de handen ineens tijdens een bijzondere kookdag in Leiden. Samen gaan we ons inzetten tegen eenzaamheid onder ouderen. Door soep te maken, een praatje te maken en écht contact te leggen, maken we het verschil!

Over Oma's Soep

Oma's Soep is het bekendste Nederlandse merk voor verse soepen en maaltijden bereid volgens authentieke oma-recepten. De opbrengsten worden gebruikt om sociale impact te creëren, waardoor Oma's Soep is uitgegroeid tot de grootste eenzaamheidsbestrijder onder ouderen in Nederland. 

Stichting Oma's Soep organiseert wekelijks kookdagen op locaties door het hele land. Op deze dagen koken jong en oud samen soep, maar wordt er vooral veel gepraat en verhalen met elkaar gedeeld. Het doel is simpel en krachtig: verbinding creëren. 

Wat gaan we doen op 12 maart?

Tijdens onze kookdag in Leiden: 

• Koken we samen met ouderen in een woonzorgcentrum en maken we soep voor de bewoners.
• Zitten wij als vrijwilligers naast de ouderen om samen te snijden, schillen en vooral gezellig te kletsen.
• Mocht er soep over zijn, mogen we na afloop samen genieten van een kommetje warme soep.

Vrijwilligers zijn niet continue bezig met koken - het draait vooral om het contact. Het team van Oma's Soep doet het grootste deel van de bereiding; wij zorgen voor de gezelligheid, aandacht en verbinding. 

Vanaf Leiden Centraal ben je binnen een kwartier op de locatie door Bus 5 richting Voorschoten of Bus 54 richting de Vink te nemen. Beide bussen stoppen vlak voor het woonzorgcentrum. 

Kosten:

• Voor deze activiteit is er geen eigen bijdrage.
• Inschrijven kan tot maximaal 5 maart 12:00, maar de plekken zijn beperkt.
• De no-show fee voor deze activiteit is 5 euro. Uitschrijven kan tot 5 maart 12:00.

Most participating elderly residents speak Dutch. Don't worry - there will be plenty of Dutch-speaking volunteers who can help translate. It's also a fun and great opportunity to practise your Dutch!

On March 12, Young Rabo and Stichting Oma's Soep are joining forces for a special cooking event in Leiden. Together we'll cook for - and with - elderly residents, creating warm connections through conversation, shared activity and delicious homemade soup. 

About Oma's Soep

Oma's Soep is the Netherlands' most well-known brand for fresh soups based on real grandmother recipes. All profits are reinvested into social programmes, making Oma's Soep the largest organization fighting loneliness among elderly people throughout the country. 

The foundation hosts weekly cooking days where young and old prepare soup together. These gatherings focus on contact, conversation, and community as much as on cooking. 

What will we do on March 12?

During our cooking day in Leiden: 

• We will prepare soup together with elderly residents at a local care home.
• Volunteers will spend most of the time chatting, peeling, cutting and sitting together with the elderly.
• If there is enough soup available, we will eat the soup together after cooking.

It's less about the cooking itself and more about meaninfull interactions and connection. 

From Leiden Central Station, the location is just 15 minutes away by bus. You can take bus 5 toward Voorschoten of bus 54 toward De Vink. Both stop right in front of the care home.

• The session is free of charge.
• You can sign up until 5 March, 12:00. There are limited spots available.
