Make an impact, learn, connect – join a Young Rabo committee!

Do you want to get more out of your time at Rabobank, expand your network, develop yourself, and contribute to the most fun association within the bank? Then a committee role at Young Rabo is perfect for you.

From September 25 to October 26, you can sign up for the 2026 committee year via this link.

What does a committee year involve?

A committee year at Young Rabo is all about connection, collaboration, and impact. Together with your committee consisting of a chair, a treasurer, and two to four other members you’ll organize activities that support the personal and professional development of our members. Think company visits, workshops, social events, networking sessions, lectures, sports activities, feedback sessions with senior management, and even (international) trips. Some committees work toward one major annual event, such as a conference or study trip, while others organize multiple activities per year, typically 1 to 2 per quarter.

We believe that personal contact and team spirit are essential for a successful committee. That’s why we encourage committees to meet 3 to 4 times per month, preferably 1 to 2 times in person. Meeting physically increases engagement, strengthens the group dynamic, and makes the work not only more effective but also more enjoyable.

What do we expect from you?

  • Commitment, Energy & Responsibility: You actively contribute to your committee and make time for meetings and organization. A committee year lasts one year. It’s voluntary, but definitely not without obligation. We’re looking for motivated members who take responsibility.
  • Collaboration & Connection: You work as a team to realize activities and contribute to a positive group dynamic. You’re open to connecting with your committee and members beyond.
  • Leadership (for chairs): As chair, you coach your committee, monitor progress, and foster collaboration and team spirit. You’ll also attend around six chair meetings per year, where you’ll meet with the board and other chairs to share experiences, learn, and inspire each other.

What’s in it for you?

  • A strong network: You’ll meet colleagues from all corners of the organization, both within and outside Young Rabo, and increase your visibility within Rabobank.
  • Connection & fun: You’ll be part of a close-knit group, build real connections, and share great moments from content-rich sessions to fun social events.
  • Personal development: You’ll work on your learning goals and develop new skills in a safe and stimulating environment. Link your committee role to your GROW objectives to work purposefully on your development.
  • A valuable experience: You’ll actively contribute to an association that connects, inspires, and empowers young employees and show your engagement with Rabobank. Boost your CV!

How does the application and selection process work?

  • Apply by October 26: Indicate in your application whether you want to be a committee member or chair, and motivate your top 3 committee choices.
  • Based on your preferences and motivation, we’ll do our best to place you accordingly. After October 28, you’ll hear whether and in which committee you’ve secured a spot.
  • Save the date: Thursday evening, November 13, marks the festive start of the year with all new committee members!
  • Interested in the chair role? Also save Thursday evening, November 27 for a chair meeting with both new and former chairs to kick-start 2026!

Commissions 2026

Afterwork Committee

Are you a true social champion? We’re looking for committee members who want to build on the legendary tradition of recent years: organizing regular social events and drinks. Networking, having fun, and unwinding after a busy workday that’s what this committee is all about.

Branding Committee

The Branding Committee supports the board and other committees. It creates campaigns, manages the website, social media, and newsletters, and supports events with engaging communication. This keeps Young Rabo visible, recognizable, and attractive to (new) members. The committee also organizes an annual promo week, quarterly lunches or drinks for new members, and manages merchandise. A committee full of creativity, variety, and impact! Are you a communications pro, social media enthusiast, or simply a passionate Young Rabo ambassador? This is your place. All skills are welcome from design to strategy, from writing to storytelling.

Cooperative Impact Committee

This committee focuses on activities aligned with Rabobank’s three major transitions: the Energy Transition, Food Transition, and Financial Wellbeing. The goal is to strengthen our cooperative identity and social engagement. Think volunteering or contributing to social/cooperative projects. Together with our members, you’ll create societal impact. The highlight of the year? Organizing the Charity Gala, a fantastic event that raises money for a chosen charity.

FLAIRS

FLAIRS is the largest annual interbank conference in the Netherlands, where young and ambitious professionals share ideas about the financial sector through thought-provoking workshops, presentations, and inspiring panel discussions. As a FLAIRS committee member, you’ll join an interbank team with members from other companies. Want to help make FLAIRS 2026 a success and expand your network in the financial sector? We’re looking for you!

Personal Growth & Development Committee

Personal development is central at Young Rabo. This committee organizes activities that help members develop both soft and hard skills, inspiring them to get the best out of themselves. Activities include trainings, workshops, and sessions with inspiring speakers. The committee also organizes two major annual events: the Personal Growth & Development Weekend and the Leadership Summit.

Intercompany Committee

The Intercompany Committee is the key to cross-company networking. Starting in 2026, it will also collaborate with Socires/Young Leaders in Finance. As a member, you’ll organize social events, inspiring networking sessions, and sports activities with other companies. Your passion is bringing people together not just within Young Rabo, but beyond. Use your creativity to launch your own Intercompany event or join existing initiatives.

KasCo (Audit Committee)

Are you detail-oriented and good with numbers? Help us review the association’s finances. Together with the treasurer, you’ll ensure transparency and audit the financial administration. A role with impact and minimal time investment.

Meet Your Company Committee

Did you know Rabobank employs its own artists? Or that we’re involved in Dutch Design Week? That BPD and DLL are fully owned by Rabobank? No? There are many departments within the bank that are less well-known. Meet Your Company showcases them! As a committee member, you’ll organize sessions with Group Directors or other inspiring colleagues to help members get to know Rabobank better and expand their network across departments. You’ll also raise Young Rabo’s profile within the bank a win-win! Want to contribute?

Regional Committees: North, East, South, or West

Are you active in your region? Do you have a local network—or want to build one—and want to organize exciting company visits, events, or excursions in a specific region? Then a regional committee is for you! Young Rabo is for everyone—from the northern tip of Groningen to southern Limburg. You’re free to organize events beyond company visits. Collaborate with your region’s cooperative director and connect with Young Rabo members who live or work nearby. Each regional committee has about 4 members and organizes 1 to 2 activities per quarter.

  • North: Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe
  • East: Gelderland, Overijssel, Flevoland
  • South: North Brabant, Limburg, Zeeland
  • West: North Holland, South Holland, Utrecht

Research Trip Committee

This committee organizes one of the most exciting trips you can take with Rabobank colleagues. The trip focuses on learning how Rabobank adds value to its clients and itself, personal development, and networking. With a team of 5 to 6 people, you’ll choose a relevant research topic and destination* and pitch your plan to the Young Rabo board. You’ll organize a week-long, unforgettable trip for 40 Young Rabo members.
*Note: air travel is excluded.

Reverse Coaching

Reverse Coaching is a committee in which you organize an unique coaching program. You will attract & match more experienced colleagues within our bank with members of Young Rabo. You will guide them in the process of setting up coaching goals, how to coach & inspire them to develop themselves and grow. But there is a twist: The coach and coachee roles are reversed! Instead of a ‘senior’ coaching the more junior, the Young Rabo member will step in the shoes of a coach and actually help their more 'senior' coachee with their challenges.

Sport & Vitality Committee

Want to help members stay fit and energized? Sport is a great way to connect informally and feel mentally and physically strong. As a committee member, you’ll organize sporty and vitality-focused activities. Think: the Young Rabo ski trip, the epic sailing weekend with the North region committee, nutrition and mental wellness sessions, and popular padel tournaments. Think big and surprise us with creative ideas that benefit body and mind!

Sustainable Future Committee

To remain distinctive and future-proof, Rabobank focuses on sustainability, innovation, and the future of the bank and its employees. This committee helps Young Rabo members become future-fit by organizing activities that showcase initiatives within and outside the bank. Think sustainable food, circular economy, AI/robotics, financial wellbeing, and other sustainability or innovation topics. Help members explore what a “sustainable future” means and what we and the bank need to do to grow toward it!
